This is a beautiful day trip from in Istanbul. The boat was so big and comfortable. We moved from golden horn port to Princes Islands tour. Buyukada is like a summer holiday area. Beautiful summer houses and very pretty shops, cafes and restaurants. We spent 3 hours on Buyukada. There are no cars on this island only electric vehicles and bikes. Lots of dining options and several cafes in addition to lokma and ice cream shops. Hike to the Prinkipo Greek Orthodox Orphanage or ride a bike to the Viranbağ beach/restaurant. The architecture and scenery are great there. A very nice and relaxing experience, especially the ferry ride.
The tour was worth it. A nice break from the hustle and bustle of central Istanbul. After an almost 2-hour boat trip with a show, we arrived to the Island.The large island has some good restaurants & shopping, ice cream of many flavors and a nice golf cart tour of the island. We ate some delicious fish by the seaside and the seagulls were quite entertaining — flying around and then landing near the window to wait for some food! Allow time on the large island for strolling along the many quaint shops and time to sit for some coffee or tea. We visited 2 islands. First was named Heybeliada. Then we were sailing from Heybeliada to Buyukada. On Buyukada we spended 2 hours and I took many photos. The Island is so pretty, the first island is very calming while the second is busy and bustling with tourists and locals.
