Monasteries of Cappadocia Tour

Expect to join an interesting sightseeing excursion to some of Cappadocia’s most notable churches and monasteries. This tour begins in the morning. The tour continues with a visit at Guzelyurt (Gelveri) village. Up until 1924 the settlement was inhabited by Christian Orthodox population, who established a long religious tradition there. Upon your arrival, you will visit the Monastery Valley, an area that is full of churches. An interesting highlight is that Monastery Valley hosts the oldest church in the region, the church of Saint Gregory. After that, expect to enjoy a tasty and energizing lunch at a local restaurant, where you will, also, have some time to relax. The last stop of this full day excursion takes place at Selime Monastery. What makes this site special is that it forms the biggest monastery in the broader region of Cappadocia. Once there, you will tour the various rooms, and visit the monastery’s church. The building is, really, impressive and has a long history, which your guide is about to unfold. In the afternoon, the bus will drive you back, and drop you off at your hotel, full of sweet memories from this sightseeing tour.
