The first stop of the day takes place at Goreme Panorama, from where you can observe some spectacular panoramic views over Goreme’s rock formations and fairy chimneys. If you are passionate about photography, then this is the place for you. The exploration continues to Derin Kuyu underground city. Accompanied by the tour guide, you will explore this 8-floor underground construction. Derin Kuyu is the largest and most popular underground city of the country. However, only 4 floors are accessible by visitors. As you walk around, you may observe various rooms and halls, kitchens, and a winery.
Two valleys are included in the schedule, the Ihlara and the Pigeons Valley. Ihlara Valley is found along a 14Km green river canyon. The bus will leave you at a certain point and together with your guide you will enjoy a 3,5Km walking along the river. The Pigeons Valley took its name from the pigeons’ nests that are found on the rocks. While you are there, you can take your time to snap some photos and listen to the interesting descriptions given by the tour guide.
The last stop of Cappadocia Green Tour takes place at a local onyx jewellery workshop. I booked the tour with ExcursionGo and had a wonderful time starting from pickup to drop prompt. Communication thru WhatsApp was clear and prompt. Enjoyed the tour with completely as promised covered all points. Food was very good many options including fish and an orange for desert. Guide was wonderful prepared to answer all your questions and guided the tour smoothly with a smile on his face. The tour covered the Derinkuyu Underground City, the Ilhara river valley trek, the Selime Monastery, a visit to a gem factory, pigeon valley viewpoint and ended with a yummy tasting (and buying) session of Turkish sweet treats and evening views at Goreme Viewpoint. We had around 12 people in our group. And we all had a great time. Lunch was at Ilhara Valley by the river. The food was decent. Nothing amazing but there was nothing to fault. During the trek we stopped at a beautiful river-side place for a tea break as well. All in all a great way to spend the day.
The green tour was an amazing experience in Cappadocia. Out of all the tours me and my wife enjoyed the Green tour the most. Good guide, nice places, well explained. Pick up vehicle arrived on time and the itinerary provided enough time at each spot. Lunch was on the river so it was a fun experience. We first stopped at Pigeon Valley in Uçhisar. Great viewpoint. Interesting spot. Second stop was at Derinkuyu Underground City. You need to be prepared to be in tight corridors, walk very fast up many steps, and be far below the ground. Third stop was at the Ihlara Valley. The valley is beautiful. You walk along the peaceful Melendiz River. We ended the hike with lunch along the water at a very nice restaurant. Overall, we enjoyed this tour very much.
